The only specialty cafe on the 23rd floor.

Pattaya has sky bars and it has specialty cafes, but it has only one place where the two overlap. Fundamental Specialty Coffee & Eatery sits on the 23rd floor of the Arbour Hotel & Residence off Beach Road, with a 360-degree view of the city and the gulf — and, unusually for a venue with that kind of outlook, a slow bar that the research says is run with intent.

That is the editorial hook: a hotel-attached cafe where the coffee is treated seriously rather than as an amenity. Reviewers describe a real slow-bar program — pour-overs to order, a cold brew served on a crystal ice sphere — though one reviewer flagged the bean selection as limited, which is worth confirming against the current menu. The ฿฿฿ price tier reflects the address as much as the cup.

Whether the brews justify the premium, and whether the bean range has since widened, are things we have not verified. This page is a research preview. The notes above are cross-sourced from multiple Wongnai reviews, the Arbour Hotel official site, Wanderlog and the MASON Pattaya guide — solid signal, but no replacement for two paid, anonymous visits.

What the audit checks. Two anonymous visits minimum, paid in full, no comped drinks. We score craft (is the coffee actually good), consistency (does it hold on an unannounced second visit), value (the cup against the price), and return frequency (would an editor come back without the notebook). The full entry — verdict, scorecard, room notes, amenities and FAQ — publishes with Issue 01, in the same template as the Albatross entry.

Order first: a pour-over from the Slow Bar, taken by the window. It is the clearest test of whether the coffee program stands on its own — and ask what origins are on the bar before you commit.
